Last day to vote for stupid tricks
This is your last chance to vote in the Late Show with David Letterman Stupid Human vs. Stupid Pet Tricks competition.
Go here and choose either the dog who plays dead or the woman who scratches the inside of her eyelids.
Vote early; vote often.

Who is stupider?
Fans of stupidity — and who among us isn't? — it's time to vote.
The Late Show with David Letterman has a Stupid Pet Trick vs. Stupid Human Trick competition going on now.
Go here for videos and to vote.
Each day you can cast your vote for your favorite pet trick or human trick. Today, for example, the competitors are a woman who spits out her gum and sucks it back in and a medical student who feeds his wife spaghetti using his nose.
Yesterday's pet tricks were a dog who says "I love you" and a dog with a monkey on his back who goes down a slide.
My choice from yesterday was not the winner.
The ultimate challenge — pet vs. human — will take place April 1-5.
Coming up is one of the most memorable stupid pet tricks: the duck who eats cottage cheese out of a woman's mouth.
Vote early, vote often.

Christmas confirmation, Darlene Love style
Sorry for the lack of posts lately, what with the snow and and a day off, there hasn't been much time left over to blog.
But anyway, totally not pet-related, it's Christmas Time and nothing makes it seem like it really is Christmas until I hear Darlene Love singing "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)."
She is scheduled to sing it on The Late Show with David Letterman tonight and I urge you, urge you to DVR it or TiVo it or even stay up and watch it live.
Until then, here is Darlene Love from two years ago, via the miracle that is youtube.com.
As one of the youtube posters said, she is the only one who should be allowed to sing this classic.

Serious wet dog smells
Last night I was watching Monday's Late Show with David Letterman.
He had the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge, with three dogs jumping into a pool.
The winner was Reggie, a 3-year-old black lab owned by Scott Conrad from Redline, Penn.
The beautiful dog jumped 25 feet 7 inches to win a loving cup filled with dog biscuits.
The great thing about having a TiVo — well, one of the great things — is being able to slo-mo at will. So I slo-mo'd Reggie as soon as he climbed out of the pool. It was incredible how he started shaking and the water fell away from him from his nose right down to his tail.
It was poetry in motion.
Unfortunately, the clip isn't on Letterman's Web site, but I managed to find a good example of what I'm talking about.
