Shame on me for not thinking of Kate when I redid my kitchen. Seriously, she doesn't seem to mind the setup shown above.
There's a bowl for fresh water, and there's a bowl for food. There is always water, and twice a day munchies appear in the other dish.
But in California, people are incorporating their pets' needs when they remodel their kitchens.
